- Hi All,
-
- As a fairly inexperienced 3D animator, I'm trying to model a golf ball.
- However, simply bump mapping a series of dimples (actually one dimple,
- multiple copies) wrapped around a sphere does not create a realistic looking
- golf ball...although it may do in a pinch. The problem is that the spacing,
- size, and shape of the dimples changes due to the wrap while all these
- elements are consistent on a real golf ball. How does one model a truly
- realistic looking golf ball? If anybody could give me some pointers on how
- to do this (or find the necessary files to do so) it would be greatly
- appreciated. For the recorde, I am using Alias Animator 6.0 (not Power
- Animator). Thank-you in advance.
